Notre Dame football players returning to campus next week

According to ESPN, Notre Dame football players will return to campus where they will quarantine at The Morris Inn upon arrival, and will take COVID-19 tests before voluntary workouts on June 22.

The players and their families were informed by athletic department officials on Thursday evening that about 90 players will check into single-occupancy rooms where they will live all summer until they move into their residences for the fall semester.

Once they have been quarantined for up to one week after arrival and tested for the virus, the school will have three phases in place to maintain social distancing during workouts.

During Phase 1, voluntary participation in workouts will begin with groups no larger than 10.

During Phase 2, group sizes of no more than 50 people will be allowed.

If the first two phases are successful, Phase 3 will allow an unlimited amount.

For more information about how this plan will be implemented, read ESPN’s report.
