SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Before teeing off at this weekend’s Four Winds Invitational, professional golfer Savannah Carlson and several other players made a heartwarming stop at Beacon Children’s Hospital to spend time with 5-year-old Theo and other young patients.

The golfers putted around with the children, bringing joy and excitement to kids undergoing treatment. For Carlson, the visit was a meaningful reminder of the impact the tournament can have beyond the course.

"For one, we get to pursue a dream out here and play golf at one of the highest levels," Carlson said. "And when we can benefit other people along the way, such as Beacon Children’s Hospital, it’s just—it’s a gift."

Over the past 13 years, the Four Winds Invitational has raised more than $1 million for Beacon Children’s Hospital. This year’s proceeds will go toward expanding the NICU’s Angel Eye camera system, which allows families to monitor their babies remotely in real time. The funds will also help launch a new support platform called NICU2HOME, designed to assist parents as their babies' transition from hospital to home.

"When kids can just run around, be silly, and enjoy the moment — that’s really precious," said Tracy Byler, Certified Child Life Specialist at Beacon Health.

The Four Winds Invitational will be held this weekend at the South Bend Country Club, bringing top-tier athletes from around the world—while continuing to give back to the local community in meaningful ways.
