Fans were getting geared up early this morning as they prepared to head to Atlanta, so they were able to make it in time to support the Fighting Irish at the National Championship game.

Delta Airlines has added additional flights to Atlanta to ensure all passengers will be able to make it to and from the game since Notre Dame will compete against Ohio State at 730pm at Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta, GA. From 6:30 a.m. to 1:06 p.m. flights are ranging from $1,020 to $1700; this is what it would take for those last-minute travelers to make it to the game before kickoff.

South Bend International Airport Vice President of Marketing and Air service Development Julie Curtis ensures that they are preparing travelers for the game tomorrow

“United did add an additional flight for the game in Atlanta - a non-stop to Atlanta, they brought in a 737, it departed on Sunday and will return on Tuesday following the game.” said Curtis “Delta also has daily flights that fly regularly three times a day to Atlanta and they did add an additional flight in the morning following the game to bring passengers back.”

Delta added four additional flights making it a total of nine flights for those passengers traveling back to South Bend following the game. The key is to plan and arrive two hours before your flight, not just so you can make your flight, but so you can guarantee that you are there to cheer on Notre Dame at the big game.
