Notre Dame defeats Purdue with an astounding score of 66-7

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- The Fighting Irish close their third season game against Purdue in a high scoring game of 66 to 7 against the Boilermakers.

Notre Dame’s offense scored 42 points in the first half of the game, surpassing the 37 points they scored in their first two games combined.

Riley Leonard was 11/16 for 112 yards, with 100 yards on 11 carries and 3 touchdowns.

Steve Angeli started in the second half at quarterback. In his second play of the drive, Angeli threw Notre Dame's first passing touchdown of the season.

The Shillelagh Trophy will remain with Notre Dame, with the final standing score of 66-7.
