Niles Salvation Army in need of supplies
NILES, Mich.-- The Niles Salvation Army sent out a call for help on Nov. 1, asking for donationations from the community.
The place dedicated to helping others is in dire need of food stuffs and funds. As the economy continues to slide, the demand for help from charities such as the Salvation Army continues to grow.
In the month of October, the Niles Salvation Army provided 280 individuals with meals. But now, there supplies have dwindled to an unprecedented low.
"I have never seen a shortage like this," said Major Bill Walters. "It's truly phenomenal how low our pantry has become."
At a time when they are usually working on finding extra food and funds, the Salvation Army is now in need of emergency donations just to fulfill the everyday demand.
You can help by donating non-perishable items to the Niles Salvation Army, or donate financial help by completing the Salvation Army mailings coming around this month.
