New Paris Community Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony coming up
New Paris Boy Scouts, Troop 12 NEW PARIS, Ind. -- The annual New Paris Community Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony is set to begin at 2 p.m., Saturday, from the New Paris Elementary parking lot.
The parade, hosted by the New Paris Chamber of Commerce and the New Paris Boy Scouts, Troop 12, will then head down Fifth Street to Division Street, then down to Market Street, then to New Paris/Jackson Township Cemetery.
The ceremony is scheduled to start at 2:15 p.m.
The scouts will present and raise the colors, while the Goshen Veterans Honor Guard are set to provide rifle salute.
A flyover is also planned, weather permitting.
The community will be honoring the families of veterans who have passed in the prior year.
Organizers announced there will also be an ice cream social at Sunnyside Park following the ceremony.
Organizers added that in case of severe weather, the parade will be canceled, and the ceremony will happen at Grace Bible Baptist Church.
