New Jersey non-profit awards an over $9K grant to local non-profit The Meow Mission
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The Meow Mission, a non-profit in South Bend, announced on Thursday that it's been awarded a $9,250 grant from New Jersey non-profit Mission Meow, a group of businesses that contribute a monthly donation which is combined, and each quarter a feline-centric organization is selected to receive the funds.
“Our investment in The Meow Mission is part of more than $15,000 in grants recently announced by Mission Meow to empower local cat-centric organizations across the country as part of our commitment to create meaningful change,” said Sally Williams, founder of Mission Meow. “Our unique strategy transforms everyday business into extraordinary support for feline welfare, weaving generosity through the fabric of the community to uplift the lives of cats everywhere."
The Meow Mission is an all-volunteer, trap, neuter, and return non-profit group dedicated to saving and improving the lives of cats in Indiana.
Mission officials say they've neutered more than 12,000 of Michiana's free-roaming cats since 2011, while providing caretakers with low cost spay/neuter services.
“This generous $9,250 investment from Mission Meow will significantly improve the lives of countless community cats who come through the doors at The Meow Mission, where in addition to providing low cost spay/neuter services, we provide essential medical care for injured and sick community cats,” said Jodi Aker, founder and president of The Meow Mission. “The grant will be used to expand our infirmary allowing us to care for double the number of injured/sick cats we currently do and the ability to enhance our medical operations in-house.”
