Our Lady of the Lake Catholic School announces opening for new Director of Development position

ST. JOSEPH, Mich. - Our Lady of the Lake Catholic School has started searching nationally to find a qualified candidate for the newly established position of Director of Development.

Once filled, the position will be funded by the nonprofit Lake Michigan Catholic School Fund for three years, according to an agreement signed by LMCSF President John Proos and Canonical Pastor Fr. John D. Fleckenstein.

Our Lady of the Lake is among Michigan's top-performing Catholic schools, and continues to support tenets of education, faith and citizenship, by investing heavily in its educators, programming and technology.

"With the new position, the school aims to secure long-term, sustainable support that keeps quality Catholic education accessible for years to come and deepens our impact within the community," says Proos. "The Fund exists to ensure the school remains on solid ground, that teachers and staff continue to have the resources they need to provide the highest quality academics, immersion in the Catholic faith, and meaningful Opportunities for students."

"Grounded in faith, Our Lady of the Lake's seven pillars - governance, Catholic culture, academics, finances, enrollment management, development, and infrastructure - combine to support our mission and vision," says Canonical Pastor Fr. John D. Fleckenstein. "Our new Director of Development will serve as an important conduit between each of these areas and the community we serve."

The Director of Development will create and execute a comprehensive fundraising plan, organize special events, acquire grant funding that supports the school's long-term financial vitality, and secure donor support.

Fr. Fleckenstein and the LMCSF Board of Trustees will fill and evaluate the position.
