MISHAWAKA, Ind. - 21-year-old Bryce Morgan Riley Dehner and 22-year-old Austyn Alexander Brooks are now officially charged with 4 counts of attempted murder, 2 counts of battery with a deadly weapon, and one count of criminal recklessness.
Each are being held behind bars on a $50,000 cash bond.
It’s all in connection to last night’s shooting in Mishawaka on Grape Road.
Two people, including an innocent bystander, and Tommy Hunt, a passenger in a vehicle being chased, were shot and rushed to the hospital.
Employees from both restaurants say they did not see any major change in business today following yesterday’s shooting.
Both customers and employees say Wednesday’s shooting doesn’t have them on high alert.
Thursday, the caution tape surrounding Chili’s and Friday’s on Grape Road was removed.
Mishawaka Police confirm the suspects, Brooks and Dehner, were taken into custody around 6 this morning.
A chase between two vehicles ended at a busy spot on Grape Road and sent two people to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The two suspects are expected to be arraigned in court on Friday.
Kenneth Witkowski, Mishawaka’s Chief of Police, says although Wednesday night’s shooting marked the city’s second instance of gun violence on Grape Road in 10 days, both were targeted incidents, and the public should not be alarmed.
