Neighbors blame lightning strike as cause of Edwardsburg barn fire
EDWARDSBURG, Mich. -- Firefighters had to battle a large barn fire on Friday afternoon in Edwardsburg. 4 area fire departments responded with close to 25 volunteers all activiely fighting the flames.
Edwardsburg Fire Chief Bruce Stack estimates 20,000 gallons of water had to be pumped for hydrients in Edwardsburg and transfered to the scene by tanker trucks.
Fire crews responded to 25843 Harris St. around 3 p.m.where they found a 30 foot by 50 foot barn engulfed in flames. Fire crews had to fill tanker trucks in
Neighbors told us that they are certain lightning caused the fire. They heard a loud boom around 3 p.m.and came outside to find the barn on fire.
