Mayor Wood gives State of the City address
BENTON HARBOR, Mich. -- The 'A-4 Asthma Program' held a free education and empowerment event put on by non-profit Benton Harbor Team Solutions with doctors, the Environmental Protection Agency, and other experts on hand to discuss asthma triggers, treatments, and tools for adults and kids.
'The reason?
The startling statistics showing that, nationwide, black children are seven times more likely to die from asthma than other groups.
In Berrien County, the percentage of white adults with asthma is 14.2, while the percentage of black adults with asthma is 24.6.
