ELKHART, Ind. -- A man is in the hospital after being injured in a crash between a car and motorcycle Friday afternoon.

The Elkhart Police Department reports the call came in around 2:11 p.m. for the crash near 25999 C.R. 6.

Officers arrived on scene shortly after.

The initial investigation determined a car was travelling west on C.R. 6 when it turned in front of a motorcyclist travelling east on C.R. 6.

Police say the car was attempting to turn into a business' parking lot.

The motorcyclist struck the vehicle, sustaining what appeared to be serious bodily injury, police said.

Medics on scene rendered aid before taking him to the hospital for further evaluation and treatment.

The EPD Crash Reconstruction Team was activated, and this remains an active and ongoing investigation.
