Motorcycle crash leaves 48-year-old man dead

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. - The Elkhart County Sheriff's Office says they responded to a reported crash involving a motorcycle and a car around 6:13 p.m. Wednesday, on U.S. 20 just east of C.R. 115.

Authorities confirm 48-year-old Jason Salyers of Elkhart was driving his motorcycle east on U.S. 20, just east of C.R. 115, when he collided with the rear of a 2011 Subaru Legacy that was also traveling east.

Officials say Salyers was thrown from his motorcycle causing life-threatening injuries and he was later pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Subaru, a 36-year-old Elkhart woman, sustained no reported injuries.

The Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash.
