Monday morning shooting sends one to hospital in Mishawaka

MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- Mishawaka Police report on Monday, June 17, around 1:10 a.m., officers responded to gunshots reported near 12th Street and Michigan Avenue.

The report states upon arrival officers found the shooting occurred in the parking lot of Kensard Court.

An individual told police another unidentified individual approached his vehicle with a firearm, resulting in a gunfire exchange.

The first individual was uninjured, while the second individual received a gunshot wound to the leg and later went to Memorial Hospital.

Police say no arrests have been made in connection with the incident at this time.

The Mishawaka Police Detective Bureau is investigating.
