MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- Hail to the red, white, and blue.
Folks across the country observed Flag Day on Thursday.
In Mishawaka, at The Res Nature Preserve, the Lions Club retired more than 400 flags.
They properly disposed of the flags by burning them and burying the ashes.
Flag Day honors when the United States adopted the stars and stripes as the official symbol for the flag.
