MISHAWAKA, Ind.—Despite a corporate announcement that Art Van Furniture will soon close and liquidate its stores, the Mishawaka location said it will not be closing anytime soon.
According to a post to the Mishawaka Art Van Furniture Facebook page, the store said that because it’s a privately owned franchise, its doors will continue to remain open.
The store said it will “continue on without Art Van support," adding that it will go through a rebranding process.
On Thursday, Michigan-based Art Van Furniture announced that company-owned stores in Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Missouri, Ohio, and Virginia would close within 60 days. Liquidation sales for the affected stores are expected to begin on Friday.
