Michigan providing training grants to over 850 businesses in the state

LANSING, Mich. – Over $39 million in grants from the Going PRO Talent Fund is going to help around 30,000 workers secure employment, industry-recognized credentials, and strong wages through training grants given to businesses around the state.

Talent Fund awards are given to Michigan businesses to help develop, train, and retain recently hired and current employees.

This training must fill a talent need expressed by the employer and must also lead to a credential for a recognized and transferable skill in a particular industry.

Since the program’s launch in 2014, over 3,000 businesses and 94,000 workers have benefitted from Talent Fund grants.

Many of the businesses receiving grants this year are from Berrien, Van Buren, Cass, and St. Joseph counties.
