Michigan City Police investigating two separate shootings

MICHIGAN CITY, Ind. – The Michigan City Police Department is investigating two separate shootings that involved four total victims, including one individual who was severely injured.

The first shooting occurred on June 29 around 11 p.m. in the area of 11th and Wabash Streets.

Officials say when police arrived in the area, 3 individuals with gunshot wounds were found.

Two of the victims were transported to the hospital where they were treated and released. The third victim was flown to a regional hospital for treatment of severe injuries.

The second shooting occurred on July 1 around midnight in the area of 11th Street and Michigan Boulevard.

Police arrived at the scene and located an individual suffering from a non life-threatening gunshot wound.

This individual was transported to the hospital for treatment and was later released.

Police say they are investigating whether these two incidents are related.
