SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- South Bend's Meals on Wheels were taking an extra step during this heat.
Drivers were making sure their residents were safe by stressing heat safety tips.
"Well I try to tell the people to drink a lot of liquds, mainly water. And tell them to stay in the house, don't go anywhee. And if I go to a house and someone's not answering a door or whatever, I'll back to Meals on Wheels and they'll give them a call or call their connection, their next connection and make sure they're okay," John Ullery, a Meals on Wheels driver, said.
