Man pleads guilty to killing animals found dead in alley

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -

The man accused of killing animals found in an alley off Indiana Avenue in South Bend has pleaded guilty to two counts of killing a domestic animal.

South Bend Police discovered dead rabbits, squirrels, a possum and at least one house cat deceased in the alley in March 2014.

On June 15, 2015, Ares Lee Howard was arrested and charged with three counts of killing a domestic animal and 8 counts of mutilating a vertebrate animal.

On October 29, Howard pleaded guilty to two counts of killing a domestic animal.

He will be sentenced in December.
