ORIGINAL STORY: ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- Documents from St. Joseph Superior Court reveal 35-year-old Nathan Visconti is facing a slew of charges after allegedly taking his girlfriend from her home on Nov. 8.

Visconti has been charged with Criminal Confinement while armed with a deadly weapon (F3), Kidnapping while Armed with a Deadly Weapon, a Level 3 Felony, Burglary of a Dwelling, a Level 4 Felony, Kidnapping where Committed by Using a Vehicle, a Level 5 Felony, Intimidation, a Level 6 Felony, Residential Entry, a Level 5 Felony, and Criminal Confinement, a Level 6 Felony.

Visconti was placed on a 72 hour hold in prison Wednesday and has no court date yet.

The probable cause affidavit in the case reveals on Nov. 8, officers with the South Bend Police Department responded to a reported home invasion on E. Bowman Street.

Officers arrived and determined there were at least seven people sleeping in different rooms in the home when the invasion had occurred.

One resident told police she woke up to find an unfamiliar black man, later identified as Visconti, opening her window in an upstairs bedroom. She said he was pointing what appeared to be a gun at her while telling her to be quiet and demanding her phone.

This resident stated the man then took her phone and iPad before going to the next bedroom. That's when she said she heard the man demanding another woman to come with him to leave the house.

Police were informed Visconti left the home in a gray minivan with the woman, identified as his girlfriend.

Other witnesses corroborated the series of events.

Later that morning, authorities say an officer found Visconti sitting in his parked gray minivan, near E. Bowman Street

Visconti was detained and it was discovered he'd thrown his car keys into the street. When confronted, police say he responded he did it because he didn't want police looking in his car.

The investigation is ongoing, and police say no handgun belonging to Visconti has been found yet.

Authorities added Visconti's girlfriend has also yet to be found.
