Man arrested for driving with blood alcohol over three times legal limit
PLYMOUTH, Ind. - The Marshall County Sheriff's Department reports on Tuesday, June 4, around 9:18 p.m., an officer initiated a traffic stop on a gray 2007 Chevy HHR around North Liberty Street and East Washington street in Plymouth.
Authorities say during the officer's investigation, the driver attempted to exit the HHR.
The report states the officer was able to detain the driver and found him to be under the influence of alcohol.
The driver, identified as Alejandro N. Calix Mencias, attempted a field sobriety test, which the officer states he was unable to complete.
Mencias was then taken to Plymouth Hospital where he refused a certified chemical test.
A search warrant was then drafted and signed by a judge.
The test was then completed, and his blood alcohol was shown to be over three times the legal limit.
Mencias was then taken to the Marshall County Jail and processed for operating a vehicle with a blood alcohol level of .15 or more and operating a vehicle without ever receiving a driver's license.
He was given a bond of $1,500.
