SOUTH BEND, Ind. – South Bend Police Department is investigating a reported shooting that happened early Saturday morning. 

Police say officers were responding to a hit and run when they were approached by a man with a wound to the leg. 

The 19-year-old victim approached officers near Lincolnway West and Lawndale Avenue. He was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Anyone with information is asked to call South Bend Police at 574-235-9201 or Crime Stoppers at 574-288-STOP.

Maybe ABC57 might list the numbers of shootings this year. It would be interesting to know age ranges, genders, if there were arrests and even race of victims and shooters!
