Main Street road construction project begins

MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- Drivers in Mishawaka faced a traffic back-up as crew started work on a busy intersection Wednesday.

Crews started phase six of the Main Street project on Wednesday.

There are additional delays between Edison Road and Catalpa Drive.

Drivers are encouraged to find alternate routes.

But people who live nearby have some advice for others out on the road.

"You better make sure that you get out here early enough if you have some to be especially on time because of the traffic you're going to be waiting for a little bit," Jasmine Bishop said.

The most recent phase of the project is expected to be finished by Aug. 24.
