MIDDLEBURY, Ind. -- The nonprofit organization LoveWay, dedicated to enriching the lives of children with disabilities through therapeutic equestrian programs, is on the search for volunteers who wish to join their team.
Volunteers at LoveWay work hands-on with horses and children, creating trust and connection through guided activities.
It is asked that most volunteers dedicate 60 to 90 minutes each week, to help foster lasting connections with the children and horses they work with.
“No experience is necessary, and full training will be provided,” said Shelley Becker, Executive Director. “LoveWay cannot exist without volunteers. With each child requiring up to three volunteers to achieve their full potential in our programs, we depend on the dedication and care of our volunteer team. This is a truly rewarding opportunity to make a difference.”
Volunteers must be at least 16 years old and be able to walk on uneven ground for at least one hour.
LoveWay is hosting a Volunteer Interest Session on Feb. 18 from 12 p.m.- 1 p.m. and from 6 p.m. - 7 p.m.
It is asked that all who wish to attend RSVP by Feb. 17 by emailing [email protected].
This is an information session only and will provide an opportunity to learn more about volunteering, to take a tour of the facility, and meet the horses.
