SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The Christ Society of South Bend received one thousand Build-a-Bear teddy bears to give to children in poverty and foster children.
The organization serves underprivileged children and foster children, and to help the children get through their tough times could use more than clothing.
“It’s not just the clothes we give the children, we try to give them something special so our children five and under all receive a stuffed animal,” stated Susan Coulter, Christ Child Society of South Bend, “Especially since our foster children, it seems to be a very important item for them to have, something that they feel comforted by, so when Build-a-Bear responded to my request, we were over the moon.”
The organization stated that half the bears will go to children in low-income homes and the other half to those in foster care.
