Lewis Cass ISD announces retirement of superintendent

CASS COUNTY, Mich.—Lewis Cass Intermediate School District on Monday announced that its superintendent will retire after the current school year ends.

Superintendent Brent Holcomb submitted his letter of retirement at the October Board of Education meeting.

Holcomb’s retirement will go into effect on June 30, 2021.

The Board accepted Holcomb’s resignation and expressed appreciation for his work at the district.

Holcomb is in his fifth year as the district’s superintendent and has spent 40 years working in education.

The school board said it plans to start the search for Holcomb’s replacement in early 2021.

Holcomb and his wife are planning to move to Marquette, Michigan to be closer to family.
