UPDATE: La Porte Community Schools release statement on volleyball coach's arrest
UPDATE: On Thursday morning, the La Porte Community School Corporation released a statement on the arrest of volleyball coach Terrell Harlan.
"To maintain the integrity of our athletic programs and minimize disruption, Coach Natalie Santana, an experienced member of the Slicer volleyball program, has assumed interim leadership of the team," the statement said.

The school district has been made aware of a personal matter involving Coach Harlan that is unrelated to his professional duties or any school activities.
To maintain the integrity of our athletic programs and minimize disruption, Coach Natalie Santana, an experienced member of the Slicer volleyball program, has assumed interim leadership of the team. We are committed to supporting our student-athletes and ensuring the continuity of their athletic experience.
Since this matter is personal and unrelated to Coach Harlan's role within our school district, we do not have access to details beyond what is publicly available. Our focus remains on providing a stable and supportive environment for our students and staff.
ORIGINAL: PORTER COUNTY, Ind. -- A volleyball coach at La Porte High School was arrested for fraud in Porter County.
Terrell Richard Harlan faces two felony charges for fraud of $50,000 - $100,000 dollars, and theft where value of property is between $750- $50,000 dollars.
Harlan was booked into the Porter County Jail but has since bonded out.
His hearing is scheduled for Oct. 30.
