Lane restrictions and closures at intersection of Ireland Road and Ironwood Drive

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The City of South Bend announced lane restrictions and closures will go into effect at the intersection of Ireland Road and Ironwood Drive starting on Thursday.
Officials say the project involved the reconstruction of the pavement, realignment of the curbs, and the installation of new traffic signals.
The construction is set to be completed in six phases, with each phase taking up to 21 days to complete, weather permitting.
City officials say traffic restrictions and closures will vary as work progresses through each phase.
Access to businesses in the impacted areas will be maintained during construction.
Officials say Phase 1 construction will focus on the northwest side of the intersection.
Southbound traffic on Ironwood will be reduced to one through lane and one left-turn lane.
Right turns onto Ireland from southbound Ironwood Road will not be permitted.
The detour route will be south on Ironwood to Jackson Road then onto Miami Street.
The anticipated completion date of the project is early July, weather permitting.
