Roads are slick in spots early this morning after a quick burst of snow late Thursday night. Lake effect snow will start up again early this morning for southwest Michigan and extreme northern Indiana. An inch of two of accumulation is possible for the lake effect belts, mainly this morning and early afternoon. You should expect minor impacts to travel in these areas. Snow should end by the evening rush tonight, as temperatures fall into the teens overnight. This weekend looks cold and mostly quiet, with highs in the low 20s Saturday and the middle 20s Sunday. Snow showers arrive late Sunday, with most of the heavy snow staying just south of Michiana. Spots south of US 30 could see some moderate snow accumulation into Monday, with only minor snow accumulation likely to the north of US 30. We will keep you updated as details become clearer. Lake effect snow is possible early next week.
