LaGrange County Sheriff's Office helps catch alleged child abusers in Michigan
VAN BUREN COUNTY, Mich. -- After receiving a tip from the La Grange County Sheriff's Office in Indiana on June 29, the Van Buren County Sheriff's Office arrested 46-year-old Jesse Lee Stone and 38-year-old Stephanie Nicole Stone on charges of child abuse.
"LaGrange County was able to provide detailed information related to the abuse," the VBCSO said. "Van Buren County Sheriff's Office with the assistance of Van Buren County Child Protective Services were able to gather enough evidence to arrest both parties involved."
Authorities say the Stone's residence in the 1000 block of M-40 Highway was the site of an in-home daycare, but it is not believed any children who attend the daycare portion of the home were being abused. The sheriff's office says deputies continue to investigate that aspect further.
Jesse Stone was arraigned on multiple counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct and Child Abuse. His bond is set at $750,000, while Stephanie Stone was arraigned on multiple counts of Child Abuse. Her bond is set at $100,000.
