SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- A juvenile has been detained in connection with a Christmas Day shooting that wounded a 15-year-old girl.

The shooting took place in the 300 E. block of Donald Street, where the 15-year-old suffered substantial but non-life-threatening injuries.

In collaboration with multiple agencies, the juvenile was detained in Mishawaka today by the Mishawaka Police Department.

A charging decision is currently under review by the Saint Joseph County Prosecutor's Office.

The South Bend Police Department's Violent Crimes Unit is continuing to investigate this case.
