IUSB to host Summer STEM Academy for middle-schoolers
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- In cooperation with the South Bend Community School Corporation, IUSB’s Summer STEM Academy will begin on June 13 and introduce rising seventh and eighth grade students to careers in interactive media arts and computer sciences.
The program runs 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the IUSB campus from June 13 to June 17.
Lunch is provided for students, who will be learning about computational thinking, programming and coding, as well as data representation and cybersecurity through a series of hands-on activities.
Career pathways such as app development, artificial intelligence study and virtual augmented reality will be explored, with a bonus opportunity for students to take a campus tour and get an early look at college life.
