ABC57 First Warning Neighborhood Weather Forecast
Sunday, December 1, 2024
A busy next 24-36 hours in the weather department. Heavy lake effect snow is looking increasingly likely Monday into Tuesday morning. For tonight though, flurries are expected to persist with cold temperatures near 20 overnight. By Monday, clouds will dominate the morning but during the afternoon, a moderate to heavy band of snow moves in. This will impact Berrien and Cass counties the most with several inches of snow into Tuesday morning. St. Joe IN, including South Bend, could see decent accumulations as well, 3-6" possible, and difficult travel during that time. As such, a Winter Storm Watch has been issued for Cass/Berrien/St. Joe IN from 10a Monday to 10a Tuesday. Snow ends Tuesday around noon, but it stays cold. Wednesday will be warmer in the upper 30s ahead of a system diving in Wednesday night, bringing rain/snow mix and more lake effect snow behind that going into Thursday. Temperatures stay cold for the foreseeable future with more snow possible Saturday.
Tonight: Flurries/overcast. Low 19.
Monday: Heavy lake effect snow. High 31.
Tuesday: AM snow. High 32.
Wednesday: Overcast and breezy. High 37.
