Hurricane Irene strengthens to 'category one' storm

The first hurricane of the season is churning its way toward the Eastern seaboard this morning.
Irene strengthened to a category one storm after pounding Puerto Rico with heavy rain and high winds.
Steel shutters and other essential supplies are flying off shelves.
South Florida residents say they plan to be prepared.
