Hot weather sparks a spike in air conditioner sales

MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- With the temps hovering near triple digits, people are racing to local stores for air conditioners.
ABC 57 checked in with the Home Depot on Main Street in Mishawaka and employees told us that the units were flying off the shelves.
Sales started to pick up yesterday. Employees tell us that people wait until the last minute to buy one.
"We're picked over. A lot of sizes we have some small ones and some big ones, but that middle of the road size, the 10s and 12's are going fast," Home Depot employee Don Smessaerd said.
