Stay weather aware Monday. There is a chance for strong, possibly severe storms, later this afternoon into the evening.
Early this morning, there are a few lingering rain and storms. These will lull by mid-morning, and the early afternoon stays mostly dry as well. However, we're not in the clear for the remainder of the day. The second round of storms is the one that could be strong, possibly severe storms. Storms look most likely starting around 5 p.m.
The biggest potential impact this evening is damaging wind gusts. There will also likely be periods of heavy downpours and a smaller chance for hail.
Remind your kids "when thunder roars, go indoors," if they have outdoor sports practice after school today.
Outside of the storms, it's going to be muggy and hot, with temperatures climbing near 90 degrees.
The severe weather threat wraps up by midnight. We could continue to see a few showers or storms linger into the early morning hours Tuesday, then we dry out again for a longer stretch of time.
Humidity will drop by tomorrow and temperatures will fall back to the 80 degree mark.
Today: Hot & muggy. Afternoon/evening storms. Potential for strong to severe storms. High 90.
Tonight: Scattered storms and showers. Low 66.
Tuesday: Mostly sunny. High 78.
Wednesday: Sunny. High 79.
