Potato Creek State Park staple, Naragon Barn, demolished Monday
SOUTH BEND, Ind.-- Today, in partnership with Mathis Farms, Holy Cross School hosted their annual pumpkin patch event for students.
This five-year-old pumpkin patch tradition brings over 300 pumpkins to the school each Halloween season.
The Holy Cross School's Junior high students take the responsibility of placing pumpkins around the school grounds which each grade level gets to take turns picking out throughout the morning.
"It brings so much excitement to have pumpkins come to our school for the day." Says Ashley Pernelee, a Kindergarten teacher at Holy Cross School. " They are jumping for hoy when they enter the building, and when it's their time to come outside, they are just giggling and laughing and so excited to be able to find their own pumpkin to take home with them."
Holy Cross School's annual pumpkin patch aims to foster excitement and learning for their students, with an entire week dedicated to learning about pumpkins' stems, seeds, and how they grow.
