Harbor Market opens in downtown Benton Harbor
BENTON HARBOR, Mich -- Downtown Benton Harbor was busy on Friday.
The first-ever Harbor Market kicked off outside of Cafe Mosaic.
Cafe Mosaic says that the market is for entrepreneurs who want to sell their goods but cannot afford a permit.
Vendors were lined up selling everything from clothes to lotions to jewelry. One thing that was obvious, there were hardly any farmers there.
"Farmers can sell their goods anywhere in the state of Michigan. Vendors always have to buy a permit. So, what we've done is purchased a permit for everyone all summer long," Thom Golba of Harbor Market said.
The Harbor Market is open every Friday from noon until 5 through October. It's located near Whirlpool's new downtown campus.
