UPDATE: South Bend Schools fires teacher arrested for grooming and enticing a minor
UPDATE TWO: The South Bend Community School Corporation confirmed William Cramer has been fired from his position at Washington High School.
UPDATE: Penn-Harris-Madison released the following statement regarding William Cramer's arrest:
"William Cramer was employed as a Penn High School Freshman Boys Basketball coach from 8/19/24 - 10/8/25. He is no longer employed with P-H-M, nor serving as a volunteer in any capacity."
ORIGINAL STORY: SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- A Washington High School teacher is behind bars in Iowa for grooming a minor.
William Cramer, a 39-year-old of Elkhart, is facing charges for grooming and enticing a minor under the age of 16 in the Buena Vista County Iowa Jail.
A South Bend School's spokesperson confirmed Cramer is employed by the corporation and has been placed on administrative leave effective immediately.
The alleged contact with the minor has no connection to the individual's role with the district or to SBCSC students.
