INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Hoosier state is taking several steps to go green with the latest plan to charge up the Michiana economy being a massive new electric vehicle battery plant.
The 3-billion-dollar project by General Motors and Samsung will bring in nearly 2,000 new jobs and it puts Indiana at the center of the ev revolution.
ABC57's Brian Conybeare traveled to Indianapolis for an exclusive interview with Governor Eric Holcomb on the economic impact of this historic investment.
Governor Holcomb announced the GM decision to select Indiana for this game changing project last week.
“This bodes really well for our future. We’re not gonna be left behind, we’re actually leading this revolution, or this evolution of mobility.”, said Gov. Holcomb.
Gov. Holcomb sat down with ABC57 News to discuss the wide-ranging economic impacts of the agreement to turn more than 600 acres of farmland at the Indiana enterprise center off State Road 2 in New Carlisle into a futuristic electric vehicle battery plant, bringing new jobs and major investments.
Gov. Holcomb stated, "Right now the South Bend region is not just rebounding, it is leading the way and that’s happening also throughout our state."
That's just a preview of our in-depth discussion on the potential impact of the GM plant in New Carlisle and Indiana's role in the electric vehicle revolution.
