Goshen motorcycle crash sends one to hospital by airlift

GOSHEN, Ind. – A crash between a motorcycle and a SUV on the north side of Goshen resulted in one person needing advanced medical care on Saturday. The accident happened at 2:20 p.m. at the intersection of County Roads 26 and 19.

Oleg Ionov, 25, was driving southbound on CR 19 on a 2006 Honda VT1, stopped and then went into the intersection. He was not wearing a helmet.

Christian Going, 33,  was driving a 2011 Chevrolet Suburban eastbound on CR 26 and failed to yield the right of way, striking Ionov who then flipped over the SUV and landed on the road.

Ionov suffered lacerations to his face and had to be transported to Memorial Hospital in South Bend via Medflight helicopter.
