Goshen man charged with allegedly fleeing police after drag racing in the street

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- A Goshen man is charged with Resisting Law Enforcement and Competing in a Speed Contest after an alleged weekend drag race.

Officers were dispatched to Nimtz Parkway and Moreau Court in South Bend on Sunday, June 28. According to documents, officers found about 100 vehicles parked in the area. They then allegedly saw Madden Douglas and another unknown vehicle driving extremely quickly.

Prosecutors say officers determined the vehicles were racing and put on their lights. Douglas allegedly continued speeding away; officers say he eventually stopped and was taken into custody.

Douglas does not have a court date yet.
