GOBLES, Mich. -- D.L. Miller Funeral Home has served families in Gobles and the surrounding areas for over half of a century.
The funeral home ensures families in the area will still have services available but just at different locations.
Ryan Oliver, the owner of D.L. Miller Funeral Home says the decision was made to close the chapel in consideration of the funeral home’s mission to provide support without increasing cost for families.
“The Gobles Chapel decided to close mainly because we are no longer using it as a facility. All of our arrangements are already in the Bloomingdale office. We only used it seven times this last year for services so it’s a lot of building to keep up for not using it.”
The Gobles funeral home location closed on New Year's Eve, but operations will continue at their Bloomingdale office nearby.
Clients are encouraged to utilize both office locations in Bangor and Bloomingdale to explore funeral services needed for mourning families.
Services at the Gobles location were suspended and the new changes aim to help families save money while receiving the same level of care and support.
D.L. Miller Funeral Home was purchased in 2010, and the owner emphasizes that this change will not affect the services they have available for the community, but they hope to adapt to their new needs.
