Funding cut for St. Joe, Michigan summer festivals

ST. JOSEPH, Mich.--The St. Joseph City Council officially voted to pull its funding for the Venetian Festival and the city's Labor Day fireworks.

The vote was made during last night's council meeting, this, after the council reviewed the results of a survey about the city's festivals. The survey asked nearly 6,000 registered voters and businesses to rank which of the city's five summer festivals they supported.

The city will continue to financially support the Blossomtime Parade, 4th of July fireworks, and the Krasl Art Fair.
