Community gathers for 9/11 stair climb
ELKHART, Ind. -- Ruthmere Mansion in Elkhart held their first Free Family Sunday of 2025 today. Allowing anyone who drops by to get a free tour of the Mansion and learn about its vast history.
On the first Sunday of every month, either Ruthmere Mansion or Havilah Beardsley House will be open for free tours, the others being closed in the process.
"We're having free family Sunday today, the first one of the 2025 season. This is a program series that is sponsored by the Community Foundation of Elkhart County. And on the first Sunday of each month, April through November, we offer open house style tours to the general public as our free family Sunday experience," stated Executive Director of Ruthmere Bill Firstenberger.
Ruthmere is open in April, June, Aug., and Oct., while Havilah Beardsley House is open May, July, Sept., and Nov.
