SOUTH BEND, Ind – Today was a day all for the families at Blackthorn Golf Club.
On the last day of the Four Winds Invitational parents and kids enjoyed the celebration as the tournament came to an end.
There was something for the whole family, from games, to balloon animals, to even real animals from the Potowatomi Zoo.
Paul Davis of Beacon Health says they created the event to bring families together.
“We want to incorporate families and kids into the tournament so that’s why we created family fun day. This is the seventh year that we’ve actually been doing it and we have great support from community members all across South Bend, Elkhart, New Buffalo and southwestern Michigan” Davis said.
Parents like Amy Surma says this event made the weekend complete
"We've been out at the course a lot this week and I'm glad that there's s day that she can come along with me versus just having adult fun" Surma said.
According to the LPGA since the tournament has been held in South Bend almost $500,000 has been raised for Beacon’s Children’s Hospital who was one of the hosts for family fun day.
