Four people arrested between three separate drug-related offenses

MARSHALL COUNTY, Ind. -- The Marshall County Narcotics Team conducted three separate operations on Tuesday that resulted in the arrest of four people suspected of drug-related offenses.

Marshall County Police conducted a traffic stop on US 30 at US 31 on Tuesday that required the assistance of the department’s K9 officer, Diesel, who was utilized to search and locate drugs that may be in the vehicle.

Diesel helped officers locate over 60 grams of suspected methamphetamine, suspected heroin and a handgun.

This traffic stop resulted in the arrest of Christopher Vaughn and Justin Poppe, of South Bend, for allegedly dealing in methamphetamine. Vaughn and Poppe are currently being held at the Marshall County Jail without bond.

Assisted by the Argos Police, the Marshall County Police Narcotics Team also located and arrested Janie Howard, of Argos, on an outstanding warrant for two counts of dealing in a narcotic drug. Howard is being held at the Marshall County Jail on a $10,000 cash bond.

Marshall County Police also located and arrested Arista Butcher, of Warsaw, for an outstanding warrant for violation of probation.

During the traffic stop, officers located hypodermic needles and suspected heroin in the vehicle. Butcher is currently being held at the Marshall County Jail for the warrant and new charges without bond.
