SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- At least four local Indiana schools and one Michigan school have made the decision to release students early Wednesday afternoon to avoid a high-impact snow event that is expected to hit Michiana this evening.

Schools releasing early Wednesday:

• Eastern Pulaski: Early Dismissal; Elementary at 12:45 and MS/HS at 1:00
• Knox Schools: Early Dismissal; Closing at 12:15 p.m.
• Oregon Davis School Corp.: Early Dismissal; Closing at 12:20 p.m.
• West Central Schools: Early Dismissal; Closing 1:05 Elementary 1:13 MS/HS

On Facebook, Buchanan Community Schools in Berrien County Michigan announced they would be closing all of their schools early on Wednesday. 

Buchanan closings: 

• Buchanan Middle School - 12:57pm
• Buchanan High School - 1:12pm
• Ottawa Elementary School - 2:15pm
• Moccasin Elementary School - 2:20pm

Elkhart Community Schools has also announced that they will not be holding evening activities tonight.
