Former Elkhart Police officer receives suspended sentence

Former Elkhart Police detective Scott Hupp received a suspended sentence for residential entry and two counts of harassment, according to court records. The victim was his estranged wife.

Hupp was sentenced to one year for residential entry and 180 days for each count of harassment by means of a telephone call, to be served concurrently.

The sentences for each count were suspended.

Hupp will be on probation for one year.

Hupp must also provide a DNA sample, undergo a health assessment to include possible addiction and impulse control.

He has also been ordered to have no contact with the victims.
